Forty days after they started, a dedicated group of pro-life supporters gathered at the corner of Wellington and Commissioners roads on Saturday, releasing bunches of pink and blue helium filled balloons into the sky to officially conclude their 40 Days for Life prayer vigil. Starting on Sept. 28, over 350 volunteers and spiritual leaders from across the region, took turns and maintained a prayer vigil on the corner overlooking London Heath Sciences Centre Victoria Hospital from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. The London event coincided with over 350 other similar vigils around the world, all with the same ultimate goal in mind â an end to abortion. Spokesperson for the London vigil, Mira DeSousa said they received a very positive response from the general public. Despite a few days of inclement weather, she felt that for their first year, the event was a huge success.
