The University of Western Ontario (UWO) Mustangs men’s hockey goaltender, Josh Unice, has been named the male Canadian Interuniversity Sport Athlete of the Week.

Unice and the No. 2 nationally-ranked Mustangs travelled to Lakehead University this past weekend (Jan. 20-21), and left with two 1-0 victories.

The double-shutout performance from the Holland, Ohio, native brought his personal record to 12-3.

Unice now has three shutouts and a 2.09 goals against average in 15 appearances this season. The former draft choice of the Chicago Blackhawks also leads the Ontario University Athletics with a .934 save percentage.

The team is currently 18-2-2, and are back in action Thursday (Jan. 26) in Windsor to face the Lancers.
