Three London ball players part of Hall of Fame-bound team

Baseball Canada’s 2011 Senior National Team will be inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame June 23 in St. Marys, Ont. Among the 24 players on the National Team roster are three London-based products.

Jamie Romak and Brock Kjeldgaard of London (originally from Edmonton, Alba.), as well as Chris Robinson of Dorchester, were all integral parts of the bronze medal-winning World Cup team and gold medal-winning Pan American Games team.

The Pan Am gold ranks as Baseball Canada’s highest accomplishment at the Senior Team level of all time.

Along with the team, Montreal Expo Rusty Staub, current Milwaukee Brewers general manager Doug Melvin and former major leaguer and Olympian Rheal Cormier will be inducted.
