ReForest London was at the Windermere Manor Hotel on Wednesday (Sept. 28) spotlighting some of the best trees in the Forest City.
The 2011 Amazing Tree Quest handed out awards for a variety of categories ranging from the people choice for the city’s best tree to the best tree artwork by kids and professional artists.
Last year’s people choice award for best tree went to a 100-year-old burr oak at the Windermere Manor but this year handed off the prize to Jack and Nancy McSloy for their 20-year-old white birch.
Winners at the ceremony received a certificate along with a tree to plant.
This is the third year for the annual event and is intended to make London residents think about their trees.
