The London Middlesex United Way paid tribute to the tireless volunteer efforts of the local labour community at its 14th annual Images of Hope and Labour Appreciation Awards.
Held Thursday night (Jan. 19) at the Marconi Club, guest in attendance enjoyed a buffet dinner before guest speaker Abe Oudshoorn, an assistant professor and Year 4 co-ordinator at the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing at The University of Western Ontario, spoke to the gathering.
Plaques were then handed out to 15 deserving volunteers who received the Labour Appreciation Award, before the presentation of the Labour Community Builder Award to Mike Ropp and the Images of Hope Award, which went to John Black.
