It was graduation day for air cadets involved in the Aeronca Aircraft Project Aviation Technology and Maintenance Course.
The course, which was held in the aviation department at John Paul II Catholic High School during the month of July, saw 19 air cadets from squadrons from around Ontario participate.
Major Gordon B. Mathers, CD Regional Cadet Advisor was the Reviewing Officer for this, the fifth class to graduate from the course.
The Aeronca Aircraft Project is a unique opportunity for the cadets where they participate in the rebuilding of a vintage Aeronca Chief aircraft. Not only do they receive instruction in the skills of aircraft maintenance and aviation technology, they can also earn an Ontario high school credit as well.
