Dan Aykroyd is a man of many hats. From the denim cap of wild and crazy guy Georg Festrunk to the black fedora of Elwood Blues, Aykroyd has worn them all.
On Friday (Sept. 28), Aykroyd was in London wearing the cap of entrepreneur, promoting Crystal Head Vodka (CHV) at the LCBO outlet at Wonderland and Southdale roads.
Hundreds of people from both near and far came out to see the veteran actor, writer, musician and funny man — many waiting for hours in a line that stretched around the building.
One of those was Derek Geldart who made the trip over from Kitchener-Waterloo. Dressed as Dr. Ray Stantz — the role Aykroyd portrayed in the movie, Ghostbusters — Geldart said the trip and even having to wait in line for hours was well worth it.
“To meet Dan Aykroyd, yeah, he is amazing.”
Between a series of promotional appearances for CHV and filming his role as Seymour Hellyer, Liberace’s long-time manager in the upcoming HBO movie, Behind The Candelabra, starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, Aykroyd's been busy this summer. The stop in London was one of two planned this weekend, the other happening tomorrow in Mississauga.
