Ground-breaking for HOME

London Community News

Photo by Mike Maloney/London Community News/Twitter: mdmaloneyphoto Monday (Oct. 1) was World Habitat Day and to help mark the occasion, Habitat for Humanity Oxford Middlesex Elgin (HOME) celebrated with the launch of new home builds in London, Woodstock and St. Thomas. In London, it was the Tulpin family — Randy, Crystal and their three sons, Damien, Nathan and Tyler — who joined with HOME representatives and various community and city partners at a ground-breaking ceremony for their soon to be built new home located on Redan Street in the Hamilton Road neighbourhood. “This is like the most amazing opportunity of a lifetime,” said Crystal who was having a hard time keeping the emotion from creeping into her voice. “Without Habitat, we wouldn’t have been able to own our own home, … this means everything to us, to provide for them (our kids) and with this opportunity of getting a house, is the greatest thing to us.” Find us on Facebook: London Community News
