The smell of Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings was in the air at Fanshawe Pioneer Village this past weekend.
Held to mark the occasion of another bountiful the harvest and wrap up the season, staff at the village once again offered guests the chance to join in the holiday celebrations over a traditional turkey dinner complete with all the fixings.
More than 350 guests sat down in the Pioneer Village Café over the three days of the long weekend (Oct. 6-8), enjoying all the Thanksgiving favourites from roast turkey served complete with cranberry sauce and stuffing to a choice between apple or pumpkin pie for desert.
Visitors also had the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely stroll through the Fanshawe site and watch as villagers prepare for the coming winter with field harvest, textiles arts and woodstove cooking.
