Clowning around at work

London Community News

Photo by Mike Maloney/London Community News/Twitter: mdmaloneyphoto It was a chance for many RONA staff members across Ontario to spend a day clowning around at work, all in the name of a good cause. Between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 6), RONA stores across the province held a one-day find raising drive where staff were encouraged to don funny wigs, red noses and clown costumes, all in support of SickKids Hospital. At the RONA outlet on Commissioners Road East, Art VanDerHoeven, Cassie Chilton, Tammy Brooks and Harold Lang were just four of the stores’s staff members getting into the spirit of the day, helping out with the fundraising activities which included the sale of 200 specially made clown cookies. Last year, the one-day fundraising drive collected approximately $25,000 province-wide for SickKids Hospital and this year, organizers have set a goal of raising $45,000.
