Reading by the numbers with the Knights

London Community News

London Knights players Miles Liberati and Kyle Platzer were welcomed by staff, students and their families of Rick Hansen Public School on Wednesday night (Feb. 12), to the school’s annual Knight of Reading and Numeracy.

“It is about getting the family together to encourage literacy and numeracy skills to be followed up at home,” said principal Sheila Builder.

Organized by the Rick Hansen School Parent Advisory Council, the fundraising event featured a number of activities for all the members of the family to enjoy including raffles and a book fair as well as a numeracy and literacy games room where families could play together.

But the highlight of the evening for most was the opportunity to listen to Liberati and Platzer, reading from writer Matt Napier’s books, Hockey Numbers and Z is for Zamboni, before getting the two young Knights players autographs.
