One London youth will be joining six others from across the country to represent Canada at the Y-20 Youth Summit in Mexico this spring.
London’s Leenat Jilani, along with fellow university students Kyle Fiore (Ontario), Serguei Leclerc (Quebec), Jonathan Pippy (New Brunswick), Tyler Power (Newfoundland and Labrador), Anand Sookrah (Ontario) and Meahgan Sweet (Saskatchewan), will be participating in the four-day summit, which will be held in Puebla, Mexico, beginning May 8.
As part of this year’s G20 program, Mexican President Felipe Calderón has invited each member country to send seven university students to the youth summit to review the main issues of the G20. Student delegates will work on a document with recommendations to be presented to the governments of participating countries prior to the leaders’ summit in June.
