Fleming Drive riot investigation wraps up

London Community News

Police have wrapped up their investigation into the March 17 Fleming Drive riot which caused more than $100,000 in damage. A total of 68 people from London and elsewhere in the province were charged over the course of the three-month investigation, including 26 Fanshawe College students, and police report they laid 175 criminal charges. Police said the cost of the investigation approached half-a-million dollars. Twenty London Police Service officers took part in the investigation and the public played a role in helping identify suspects as police posted photographs of a number of suspects on the service’s website. Police identified the last suspects to be charged, all from the Barrie area, on June 15. Police are thanking the public for its help in the investigation and say any further information relating to the riot can still be relayed to police through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or online anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
