Westmount Welcomes the World at annual event

Photos by Mallory Clarkson/London Community News/Twitter: @MalloryClarkson London residents with origins from around the world gathered in Westmount Lions and Village Green parks Saturday (June 30) for a fun-filled day of sports, activities and camaraderie. While there was soccer being played during the second annual Community Cup-Westmount Welcomes the World event, Sadet Emini, the group’s facilitator and with the London Cross Cultural Lerner Centre, said there were other benefits from Saturday’s event. “This is the biggest event for us to bring all newcomers together, all of the immigrants together, but also Canadians,” she said. “It’s a very nice event.” As well as activities like face painting and crafts, the event also offered participants some cultural eat and tunes throughout the day.
