Man arrested after stand off now facing charges (Update)

A 26-year-old man who was arrested by London Police Service after a three-hour stand off at a house on Cartwright Street is now facing charges.
Police have charged 26-year-old Gregory Cochrane of London with possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, as well as resisting arrest.
On Saturday (July 7), at 10:30 a.m., London police responded to an address at 29 Cartwright St., after receiving information a man inside was a danger to himself and others. Once on scene police located the man who had a knife in his hands. He then barricaded himself alone inside the residence and refused to surrender to police.
The London Police Emergency Response Unit and negotiators were utilized, and after three hours the man exited the residence and surrendered to police. At 1:27 p.m., Cochrane was arrested.
Cochrane suffered a minor, self-inflicted injury during the incident. He was medically cleared at the scene and transported to London Police Headquarters. The investigation is continuing.
