Putting the Meadow Park Care Centre out in the open

London Community News

Lia Dionysakopoulos, a registered nurse and the director of care at London’s Meadow Park Care Centre, said it’s sometimes easy for the community to miss the facility, tucked away as it is off of Southdale Road in southeast London. That’s why the long-term care centre held an open house on Saturday (July 21). “We wanted to bring awareness to the community about what our home has to offer,” Dionysakopoulos said. During the open house, members of the community were treated to a barbecue, door prizes and several services such as the destruction of drugs, medication reviews, blood pressure checks and tours of the facility. Dionysakopoulos said the centre has been open for 40 years and currently has 126 residents. It offers residents services such as social activities, physical therapy, dining and pastoral care, she added. Over the course of the open house, roughly 50 people came by to check out the centre.
