Off-duty police officer nabs alleged impaired driver

London Community News

Mitchell Furlonger, a 20-year-old K0moka man, is facing one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle after colliding with a tree. According to police, at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning (July 29), an off-duty officer observed Furlonger on Ambleside Drive where he drove off the road, striking a tree and an electrical box. Furlonger then drove his vehicle back onto the road and was attempting to flee the scene of the collision but the off-duty officer intervened and detained him until police arrived. This charge has not been proven in court.
