Sign of the times

London Community News

Photos by Mike Maloney/London Community News/Twitter: mdmaloneyphoto The transformation of the John Labatt Centre (JLC) to Budweiser Gardens has become a little more visible to people passing by on the street. On Monday morning (Sept.17), employees of London company Excellent Signs began the process of removing the familiar JLC logos and signage from the downtown landmark and replacing them with new Budweiser Gardens moniker. Earlier this year, officials with Labatt Breweries and Global Spectrum, the company that operates the venue, reached a deal renewing the naming rights to the 10-year old facility. Chris Campbell, Global Spectrum's director of marketing at Budweiser Gardens, replied in an email that most of the transition to the new name — items ranging from things like new business cards to changing over the website, as well as replacing signage — will be complete by Oct. 11.
