Two London residents facing guns, drugs charges

On Wednesday (Oct. 10), members of the London Police Guns and Drugs Section, consisting of members of the London Police Service and RCMP, were investigating persons believed to be involved in the trafficking of cocaine in the city of London.
Two parties, a male and female were arrested in a motor vehicle in the south end of the city.
When officers searched the vehicle, they located a loaded handgun and a quantity of drugs.
As a result of this investigation police seized:
• 25 Grams of Marihuana worth $250;
• 21 Grams of Powdered MDMA worth $1,050;
• Four grams of cocaine worth $400; and
• A loaded .45 Calibre semi-automatic handgun with six rounds in the magazine
The vehicle, a 2006 Honda Civic and $260 in cash was seized in relation to the offences.
The total value of all drugs seized was $1,700.
Police have charged 28-year-old Philip Rahaman, and 18-year-old Maria Dawidenko of London with three counts of possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
They are also both charged with numerous weapons offences under the Criminal Code in relation to the unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, including possessing a firearm with an altered serial number and occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm.
None of these charges have been proven in a court of law.
