Light the Night to spotlight the battle with blood cancers

London Community News

Organizers are hoping to have over 1,000 walkers come together this Saturday evening (Oct. 20) to remember those whose lives have been impacted by blood cancer. Light the Night, set for Victoria Park, will see participants come together in the early evening while holding illuminated balloons — white for survivors, red for supporters and gold to remember those who have lost their battle. The walk, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, is a celebration, with music, refreshments and family activities. While the walk is an established event in Toronto, this is the first year that the event is coming to London. Students in the Western University Continuing Studies public relations program are organizing the event, which is being held to raise money for Leukemia and Lymphoma research. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with the walk getting underway at 7 p.m. More information on Light the Night is available at www.lightthenight.ca. Find us on Facebook: London Community News
