Blackout leaves 2,000 residents without power

London Hydro crews are currently investigating a power outage that is affecting approximately 2,000 customers.
At around 11:15 a.m., London Hydro dispatched a crew to the area of Wellington Street and Pall Mall to assess the situation. While that assessment continues, an area stretching from Oxford Street to Colborne Street and south to Horton Street has been left without power.
Nancy Hutton, director public relations at London Hydro, said the outage was affecting “a fairly big block area,” and that the utility hopes to soon have a better idea around the specific cause of the problem and how soon it will be corrected.
“We are attempting to do some switching to get customers back on,” Hutton said. “Once the crews have assessed the situation and know whether it is faulty equipment or something that needs to be replaced, we will have a better estimated restoration time.”
