Airport adds new Cell Phone Waiting Lot to ease congestion
London Community News
Picking up passengers at the London airport just became more convenient with the opening a new Cell Phone Waiting Lot.
Located adjacent to the terminal loop, the cell lot is a product of today’s technology that welcomes drivers picking up passengers at the London Airport to wait in their car until their party has arrived.
The passenger then uses their cell to call or send a quick message to that person in the car waiting in the cell phone lot, and their ride will be in front of the terminal in a mere minute or two.
“Our customers have asked and we have responded by adding the new Cell Lot. This is another commitment to the region ensuring that London Airport is a convenient and hassle-free experience for our passengers” said Gerry Vanderhoek, manager of Passenger Experience for the airport, in a news release. “We want to make the airport experience on arrival just as easy as it is for departures and this certainly will help with that.”
The waiting area currently has 20 waiting spots but can easily be expanded if there is enough demand. The new addition will help ease some traffic and parking around the airport loop during peak flight times by expediting the pick up process.
