The Season of Celebration campaign began in 1990 with a single question from the care giving team, “How can we make the Christmas season a little brighter for those in our care who can’t go home for the holidays?”
More than 20 years later, Season of Celebration at St. Joseph’s is a tradition as treasured as the season it celebrates.
Last week, St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation launches its Season of Celebration campaign on a high note. Due to the generous support of the community, more than $100,000 of the campaign’s $360,000 goal has already been received. The campaign will run until Dec. 31 and funds are critically needed.
“A donation to Season of Celebration is the perfect gift for a family member or friend who has everything, or for those who want to spread cheer to many with a single gift,” said Michelle Campbell, president and CEO of St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation, in a news release. “Every gift brightens the long winter nights for those in hospital for the Christmas season, including caregivers who work over the holidays, and it supports critical front-line patient care needs across St. Joseph’s.”
This year, donations will support items as such as blanket warmers that provide warmth and comfort to patients, exercise equipment critical to the recovery of patients in our health care facilities, specialized beds and mattresses, and so much more. Donor support is also recognized with pink Lights of Caring, creating a heartwarming display to those in hospital during the Christmas season.
