Toronto man charged with aggravated assault following Tuesday morning stabbing (update)

Update (Jan. 15, 6:30 p.m.): Police released the name of the man arrested at the scene of the stabbing Tuesday morning (Jan. 15).

Yang Zhang, 21, of Toronto has been charged with aggravated assault and weapons dangerous.  The victim remains in London Health Sciences Centre in critical but stable condition.

One man is in critical condition and another in police custody after a midnight stabbing in West London.

According to the London Police Service, a 911 call came in from the area of Beaverbrook Avenue at Kettleridge Street at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 15). When they arrived officers discovered a man suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Police arrested a man at the scene. They say he and the victim knew each other.

Investigators were still on scene at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

More information will be disclosed as the investigation progresses.
