Thank You London (editorial)
London Community News
Happy Birthday to us,
Happy Birthday to us,
Happy Birthday Dear LCN,
Happy Birthday to us.
It’s hard to imagine but we’re celebrating our first anniversary at London Community News this week. Wow, time flies.
Our premiere edition hit the street on June 23, 2011. And, every Thursday since then, a copy has been deposited on your doorstop, in your mailbox or at a nearby newspaper box.
For part of our team, it’s been a year of reaffirming local contacts and knowledge of the City of London. For others, it’s been a year of discovery: learning new streets, new politics and navigating the acronyms.
For everyone, however, it’s been a year of growth, hard work and a tremendous sense of satisfaction. A large part of that satisfaction comes from knowing our efforts aren’t going unnoticed by you - our readers.
In a time when real communication is often fleeting, more often confined with the characters of a status update or tweet, our readers have gone out of their way to let us know they appreciate the conversation we bring to the City of London.
Be it through letters to the editor, phone calls, emails, personal conversations, and of course, our advertisers, thank you for your encouragement, engagement and support. There wouldn’t be a newspaper without you.
As always, we welcome any suggestions, ideas and feedback from you to help improve our newspaper or website.
Look for some small changes in next week’s newspaper that were designed to integrate more social media and community input, as well as enhance the overall look and readability of London Community News.
Again, thank you London and we look forward to continuing the conversation with you for many, many years to come.
