On April 25, the Argyle Community Association will be holding its third Annual General Meeting at 7 p.m. at the Church of the Ascension (2060 Dundas St. E.). The fact our membership has grown from four people in 2008 to nearly 600 is indisputable proof Argyle residents desire change and wish to speak with a united voice.

The news last week London’s unemployment rate had fallen a fourth straight month was certainly something to cheer. While at 8.5 per cent we’re still a full percentage point above the Ontario average, at least London is now well below the jobless rate in Windsor, among the country’s most troubled cities.

Covent Garden Market is the favourite space of Sean Galloway, London’s lanky urban designer’s favourite space: Covent Garden Market. He’s down here often, eating lunch, lecturing students in the course he teaches at Fanshawe College, enjoying drinks with friends and ruminating on the latest hockey game, or simply cutting through on the way to somewhere else.

Bit by bit, the areas of contention in a looming fight over individual property rights in London are becoming clearer. We caught a whiff of it during the fight over chickens in the backyard. A few weeks ago composting was the issue.
