After posting a 7-2 record to begin the inaugural National Basketball League of Canada (NBL) season, London Lightning head coach Michael Ray Richardson has been named Coach of the Month for November.
London's leading scorer, forward Gabe Freeman, was the very first NBL player to be named Player of the Week, and now Richardson is the initial recipient of the monthly coaching honour.
Through nine games thus far in the 2011-12 campaign, the Richardson-led Lightning sit atop the NBL standings. They lead the league in points against per game (92.4), assist/turnover ratio (1.268) and five other upkept statistical categories.
"I am looking forward to getting many more," Richardson said in a release from the team.
