Mayors make friendly wager on NBL-C championship

London Community News

London mayor Joe Fontana and his counterpart in Halifax, Mayor Peter Kelly, have placed a friendly wager on the current National Basketball League of Canada championship series featuring the two cities. If the London Lightning win the inaugural title, Kelly has agreed to fly the London flag, wear a Lightning jersey and ship lobster to the Forest City. Should the Rainmen be victorious, Fontana will wear Halifax team colours (different shades of blue), fly the Halifax flag and provide some home brewed Labatt beer to Kelly. The best-of-five series could be all said and done tonight with a Lightning victory in Halifax. The Rainmen are still looking for their first win of the championship.
