Catholic Central H.S. student off to World Wrestling Championships

The Forest City was well represented at the Cadet-Juvenile National Wrestling Championships in Fredericton, N.B. last weekend (April 13-15) with a London athlete taking home gold from the event. Anna McKee, representing London-Western, won the individual 49 kg U-18 Juvenile gold at the tournament, qualifying her for the week-long World Cadet Championship in Baku, Azerbaijan on Aug. 21. The Catholic Central High School student competed in last year’s World’s in Hungary losing two matches against wrestlers from Japan and Turkey. Other London-Western members worth a notable mention coming out of the National Championships include Brandon Ross coming third in the Juvenile Greco Roman 54 kg category and fourth in Juvenile 54 kg, Alyssa Medeiros placing third in the Juvenile 52 kg class and Ingmar Salvador-Guzman finishing sixth in Juvenile 76 kg.
