Majors to help paint Labatt Park purple
London Community News
Community involvement is an integral part of London’s very own baseball team.
In the London Majors latest effort to continue to connect with fans and the broader community at large, the team has partnered with the London Abused Women’s Centre for Purple in the Park.
For the first time in London history the Majors will play their Thursday, July 5 game against the Guelph Royals, starting at 7:30 p.m., donning purple jerseys and purple bats in support of the London Abuse Women’s Centre.
The public is encouraged to attend the game wearing purple in an effort to paint the world’s oldest baseball park purple for the evening. Fans will have a chance to bid on the purple jerseys, which will be signed by the players and auctioned off at the game.
For the very young fans there will be fun activities such as run the bases, dizzy bat spin and the ever-popular water balloon toss.
