Badgers dominate in home tournaments

The London Badgers must have fed off the hometown crowd after winning four of the seven tournaments hosted by the team running from Friday (June 8) to Sunday (June 10). Ranging from the under-8 Minor Rookie division to the under-15 Major Bantam teams, London welcomed players from across Ontario and as far away as Michigan for the London baseball tournament that spread across baseball diamonds all over the city. The Badgers’ older teams dominated starting with their Major Bantam team blanking West Toronto 3-0 in the championship game. London’s Minor Bantam squeaked by the Thornhill Reds 7-6 in the finale and the Badgers Major Peewee crushed Georgetown 7-0. The Minor Peewee team closed out the Sunday championships for the Badgers with a 16-2 stomping of the Michigan Expos. All teams played three games in the round robin before entering the playoffs.
