About 100 people bought their tickets to see some of the fittest people from across the country flex their muscles for the UFE Showdown at Centennial Hall Saturday (June 23).
The event started in the morning with an open class competition, but the very best sculpted abs, quads, biceps, triceps and deltoids came in the evening when the elite level contest consisting of participants hailing from east to west of Canada.
Judges evaluated the robust bunch in a variety of categories with bikini and figure looked at for the women, bodybuilding for the men and fitness modeling for both.
The top three participants in each category qualify to compete in UFE Pro competitions—the highest level.
If there was anyone in the crowd not pumped up by the muscles and/or curves of the competitors, the show also hosted a performance by local UFE Pro Nick Geris and threw out t-shirts and protein powder to the crowd.
