Blue Devils catch some heat

The London Jr. B Blue Devils took some time out of their busy playoff schedule to hand out some hot dogs and earn a little coin at Kinsmen Arena during the team’s silent auction and barbecue Saturday (June 30). The usual meat on a bun was plentiful and there were more than 100 items to bid on ranging from London Knights club seat tickets to an autographed mask from recently retired Toronto Rock legendary goaltender Bob Watson. The lineups weren’t short for grub with the London Minor Lacrosse Association hosting its Day of Champs — championship day for the league’s age divisions — inside the Granville Street arena. Funds raised during the event go towards the Blue Devils’ team cost and with so much action inside Kinsmen, there’s no doubt head coach Jeff Williamson had his eye on some future prospects. “I’m watching a few games,” he said.
