The London Lightning Bantam Girls fastball team continued their winning ways with a convincing 12-8 win over Brantford on Wednesday night (July 11).
Playing at home under the familiar lights of Stronach Park, London wasted no time in setting the pace early, scoring five runs in the first inning and continuing to add to that tally throughout the game.
A five-run Brantford rally came a little too late for the visiting squad with the Lightning riding a four-run lead to victory.
Currently sitting sixth in the Grand Valley Ladies Softball Association bantam division, one point back of a Waterloo and Brantford who are tied for fourth, the win improves London’s season record to 9-8.
The next game for the Lightning is Wednesday (July 18) versus Waterloo at Stronach Park. Game time 8:30 p.m.
