Lightning fizzles in finals

Playing host to the Grand Valley Ladies Softball Novice Championships on the diamonds at Stronach Park, things started out well for the team Saturday morning, posting a 9-1 win over Cambridge Blue. Unfortunately for London, they would run into some stiff competition from that point forward, dropping their next three games to Guelph, Kitchener and Waterloo Gold — the eventual tournament champions.
