London Community News

It’s raining over a part of London and Dorchester this weekend (Aug. 18 and 19), but instead of the usual precipitation its giant softballs falling from the sky as part of the Slo-Pitch Ontario (SPO) Provincial Championships. About 110 teams came out for the tourney filling up all eight ball diamonds at Slo-Pitch City in Dorchester and all 10 of the SPO regulated fields at the Southwest London Baseball Complex, just off Exeter Road. Around 10 different men, co-ed and recreational divisions fielded the ballparks with teams making the trip from places like Belleville, Sault Ste. Marie and North Bay. The long bus rides are all in a bid to become the provincial title holders and move on to the Canadian championships. [gallery link="file"] Find us on Facebook: London Community News
