Beefeaters wide receiver named player of the week

Josh Woodman, a rookie wide receiver, led the Beefeaters to a big win over the visiting Windsor AKO Fratmen last Saturday (Sept. 1) and was selected as the Ontario Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week. The second-year arts student at the University of Western Ontario had nine catches for 230 yards and three touchdowns — including an 80-yard TD on the opening offensive play of the game for the Beefeaters. The former Chatham Ursuline Pines graduate will try to lead the Beefeaters to their fifth consecutive victory, when they travel to play the Ottawa Sooners on Saturday, September 8, at 7 p.m. at Keith Harris Stadium in Ottawa.
