The London Knights announced Thursday (Sept. 20) the team has named defenceman Scott Harrington as captain of this year’s squad.
Harrington, 19, is entering his fourth season in the Ontario Hockey League and served as an assistant captain of the Knights last year.
A Knights first round draft pick in the 2008 OHL Priority Selection and a second round draft choice (54th Overall) of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Harrington takes over from 2011-2012 team captain Jarred Tinordi.
The Knights also named defenceman Tommy Hughes, Olli Maatta and forward Seth Griffith as alternate captains for the team.
The puck drops on the 2012-2013 season for London at the Knights’ home opener against the Erie Otters on Friday (Sept. 21) at Budweiser Gardens with opening ceremonies beginning at 7:30 p.m.
