Late heroics by Beefeaters score team a comeback win

Trailing 17-0 at halftime against the Windsor AKO Fratmen in Canadian Junior Football League week seven action, the London Beefeaters were able to dig deep for the comeback with a last second 49-yard field goal by Zack Medeiros to bring home a 20-17 victory.
Just 45 seconds before the game winner, quarterback Blake Huggins hit slotback Christian Ridley for a touchdown to tie the game. Beefeaters’ defensive back Isaiah Nganga forced a fumble to give his team the ball back after the ensuing kickoff to give his team the ball back.
With the win the Beefeaters clinch home field to start the playoffs in two weeks.
London will take on the Hamilton Hurricanes at TD Waterhouse Stadium on Friday (Sept. 28) with the winner taking the top spot in the Ontario Football Conference. Kickoff is at 8 p.m.
