The Forest City Volleyball Club (FCVC) never leave a gym empty and they proved it Saturday (Oct. 20) at Fanshawe College.
The 20-year-old club had originally planned to use the college gymnasium for its elementary school volleyball tournament, but with public schools not hosting teams due to teachers protesting Bill 115, the 15-year-old competition had been cancelled.
FCVC wasn’t going to let the gym go to waste and instead held intra-squad games with its Under-15 team and invited a club from Guelph for some tune-up matches with head coach Bob Mann and his assistant, Tabby Beedle, working out the kinks.
The season starts for FCVC at the end of November and runs until the national championships in May.
