The Oakridge Oaks were in a class of their own in the Tier 2 Central Boy’s football division, showing it all season and finishing it Saturday (Nov. 17) at TD Waterhouse Stadium in the conference B final.
The Oaks put up another goose egg on their schedule after beating the Tier 1 Saunders Sabres 33-0 in the finale, making the Viscount Road school the sixth shutout victim in Oakridge’s eight games.
Not only did the Oaks run the table in the season and playoffs, but they didn’t allow a touchdown all year and gave up just five points compared to picking up 291 along the way.
The Oaks ran into halftime of the B championship with 14-0 lead after two rushing touchdowns from Paul Kozachuk.
Halfback Matt Jeffs added another touchdown in the third quarter, while Mitch Pollock caught the ball in the end zone from 11-yards out to complete the big points put on the board for Oakridge.
The win moves the Oaks to Tier 1 next season.
