Local synchronized skating teams head to championships

Two teams from the London Skating Club have bought their plane tickets to Calgary for the 2013 Canadian Synchronized Skating Championships starting Feb. 22.

The local Intermediate team secured their spot to the national championships after earning a silver medal at 2013 Central Regional Synchronized Skating Championships held Feb. 8 to the 10.

The London Skating Club’s Novice team finished in fourth place at the same provincial event to qualify for the two-day national finale.

Other London Skating Club teams performances at the Regional Championships include the Adult I team placing fifth, Pre-Novice team getting sixth in their division and the Juvenile team 11th.
