OCAA basketball silver for Falcons

The Fanshawe Falcons women’s basketball team finished the Ontario College Athletic Association championships with a silver medal and will now be getting ready for a shot at the national title.

The Falcons beat the George Brown Huskies and tournament-host Humber Hawks before just falling short to the Algonquin Thunder 74-72 in the provincial final Saturday (March 2).

Along with the Algonquin, Fanshawe will compete at the Canadian College Athletic Association championships taking place at Dalhousie University in Truro, N.S. from March 13 to 16.

At the OCAA tournament, third-year Falcon guard Felicia Mazerolle was named a West Division First-Team All-Star after leading her team in points, assists and steals in the regular season.
