The Central branch of the London Public Library wasn’t just a place to nourish you mind on Friday (April 13), it was also a place to tantalize your tastebuds.
The occasion was the fifth annual Books2Eat fundraiser in support of library literacy programs.
Inspired by their favourite book or a particular literary classic, 14 local chefs created culinary offerings based on those selections for guests to rate. In addition, students enrolled in the hospitality program at Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School were also on hand, serving up tasty appetizers based around the best-selling book and now movie, The Hunger Games.
The list of restaurants and chefs participating in this event included; Blackfriars Bistro & Caterer, The Braywick Bistro, Candies Cakery, The Cheese Poet, The Church Key Bistro-Pub, Covent Garden Outdoor Farmers’ Market, David’s Bistro, Garlics of London, Kantina Café with Field Gate Organics, Melrose Bakery, Old South Village Pub, Petit Paris and The Springs Restaurant.
