Art in the garden at Banting

London Community News

Photos by Mike Maloney/London Community News/Twitter:@mdmaloneyphoto Sir Frederick Banting is known as the man credited with the discovery of insulin for the treatment of diabetes. But what many don’t know is that Banting was also an accomplished artist as well. In recognition of that fact, the Banting House National Historic Site once again welcomed artists and guests this past weekend (July 14-15) to Banting and Friends 4, a fundraiser in support of the museum. Five artists with a connection to London were on hand at the event in the garden adjacent to the, displaying a number of works in various media. 50 per cent of all sales by the artists at the show will be donated back to the museum.
