Emergency vehicles on display at Forest Edge pool

London Community News

Members of the Westmount community were treated to a wide variety of emergency service vehicles during the Forest Edge Community Pool’s third annual Emergency Services Night, July 12. The event largely anticipated by the members of the public welcomed over 300 guests to the not-for-profit community swimming pool (427 Village Green Ave.) situated in Westmount.  As included in the night’s celebration was a community barbeque and a silent auction that received over 30 donations from neighbouring businesses. Ryan Million, president of Forest Edge Community Pool, said the event is typically the pool’s largest of the year and sees the Westmount pocket of the city come together for a community get together that encourages the essence of what community, partnership and friendship within a large city is all about. “It’s truly a rewarding experience from an organizing point of view to see so many families enjoy the night, share a few laughs, and create lasting memories for the children and families who attend,” Million said. “Kids in the neighbourhood anticipate this night with many saying it is the highlight of their summer.” The Forest Edge Community Pool is a not-for-profit pool that has been in operation for over 40 years in the Westmount area.  The pool is home to over 80 families that offer a unique community atmosphere, social events, swimming lessons and a place to cool off during the summer months.
