London’s Home County Music and Art Festival received a well-deserved financial boost on Thursday morning (July 19).
On the eve of the 39th edition of the festival, which runs from July 20-22 in Victoria Park, London West MPP Chris Bentley joined with festival representatives to announce a $124,500 cash infusion for the event. The amount is to be delivered over the next two years and drawn from three programs overseen by the province.
Ontario Trillium Foundation will be leading the way with the lion's share, kicking in $54,500 over two years to enable the festival to hire staff for two new part-time contract positions.
Celebrate Ontario anted up $50,000 to fund New Music programming at this year’s festival, while The Ontario Arts Council is chipping in $20,000 in operating funding for 2012.
