Town hall meeting to be held at Western to discuss controversial paper

London Community News

Western's faculty association is hosting a town hall meeting on Sept. 5 to discuss the province’s recently released discussion paper called Strengthening Ontario's Centres of Creativity, Innovation and Knowledge. According to a press release issued by the University of Western Ontario Faculty Association (UWOFA), the document has generated considerable concern among universities in the province. The purpose of the meeting is to give people the opportunity to discuss and debate how the various ideas raised in the controversial paper could, if implemented, have lasting implications for students, staff and faculty. The meeting will be held from 4-5:30 p.m. at the UCC Building, McKellar Room at Western. For more information, contact UWOFA President Don Abelson by phone at 519-661-2111 ext. 86231 or by email at dabelson@uwo.ca.
