Celebrating the harvest

Photos by Mike Maloney/London Community News/Twitter: mdmaloneyphoto There were a number of community celebrations and gatherings across the Forest City this past weekend including the Pagan Pride Day Community Harvest Gathering. A group of approximately 150 people took part in this, the third year for the event, which was held at Gibbons Park on Saturday (Aug. 25). The theme this year was Druidry and helping to set the tone of the event, opening and closing ceremonies were done in ritual Druid fashion. Throughout the day, guests also had the chance to try their hand at various activities associated with Celtic Warrior Games including archery and foot races. In addition to workshops on paganism and living a pagan lifestyle, drum circle and potluck lunch to celebrate the harvest, a small selection of vendors were on hand as well.
