While Christmas may still be months away, that didn’t stop a generous group of motorcycle enthusiasts from getting into the holiday spirit of giving.
Taking advantage of a near perfect day for a tour through the countryside, close to 300 riders hopped on their bikes to take part in the 29th annual London Toy Ride on Saturday (Sept. 15).
Starting off from the Home Depot parking lot at the corner of Dundas Street and Clarke Road, riders wound their way out east of the city, down through Putnam before heading back to the ride’s finish at the Lambeth Legion.
A number of motorcycle groups participated in the event including the Southern Cruisers, Canadian Army Veterans Motorcycle Unit and Goldwing Road Riders Association to name just a few.
All toys collected through the ride are distributed through the Salvation Army as part of their Christmas Hope program.
